More Purses and Cards

The video to make this purse by Linda Parker is HERE.

It looks like a real purse!
(The directions are in my docs under Large Handbag.)

This is the card inside the purse. It folds flat and pops up
inside when it's opened:

To make this card:

OUTSIDE
5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" along the 8 1/2" side
INSIDE
5 1/2" x 4 3/4" scored along 4 3/4" at 1/2" and 4 1/2"
Glue inside piece on the left and right sides of the card.

The cards below are from a walk down Memory Lane:

Zippy Zebras

My friend let me borrow her Zippy Zebras stamp and die set from MFT. It really makes me smile!

New Z Fold

Here's a new 3 Panel Scenery Z-Fold demonstrated by Rachel Tessman from Stamp Your Heart Out:
Her video and measurements can be found HERE.

I had so much fun using up some DSP making this version:

This card is going out to Anne.

Garden Collage Cards

I learned how to make a triple step card this week. This one is for Jennie's birthday. The directions were off on a couple of the measurements, so I modified them and put the directions in My Drive. Frenchie Stamps original how-to instructions can be found HERE.

...and this was another quicker version using the bird
stamp from the SU Garden Collage retired set:

This one is for Anne's Mother's Day card. I'm including a set
of Words of Wisdom from Moms quotes:

  • Your future does not lay in front of you, it lies deep inside of you.

  • Life is not about finding yourself. It’s about creating yourself.

  • When life becomes a roller coaster, climb into the front seat, throw your arms in the air and enjoy the ride.

  • Life is all about how you handle Plan B.

  • Practice the art of listening.

  • Rise by lifting others.

  • Play with wild abandon.

  • Everything that comes up in your mind doesn’t need to come out of your mouth.

  • Worrying is like a rocking horse - it keeps you going, but you go nowhere.

  • Be quick to praise and slow to criticize.

  • Find the joy in all choices you make.

  • The nicest thing you can give someone is a smile.

  • To have a friend you have to be a friend.

  • Never take a good friend for granted.

Favorite Baby Girl Card

I try to keep a card like this on hand to send out for birthdays or congrats on the birth of your new baby girl. It's fun to see the results from using different combinations of DSP.

Sentiment: Vintage Labels (SU Retired)

This is a 5" square card and the center square measures 3 1/4". The blouse is SU's label punch and the dress is made from their scalloped oval punch. I also ran the ovals through an embossing folder to give a little bit of texture to the dress.

Sentiment: Hodgepodge Happiness (SU Retired)

Pop Up Butterflies

Last week, this Winged Box Card by Dina Kowal was posted on Splitcoaststampers.com:

The tutorial HERE made it easy to give this card a try:

I then found some glitter butterfly vellum that I had been saving for eons and decided it was time to use it! The scalloped frame is a wonderful technique for vellum papers. Using liquid glue on the edges of the frame hides the adhesive on the vellum.

Quick Cards

This is an A2 card size using a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and a 3/4" circle punch. The vanilla card stock measures 3 1/8" x 3 7/8". Such a great way to use up scraps that I've been hoarding - LOL! The sentiment is: Carte Postal by Stampin' Up (retired).

The second card below measures 5" x 6 1/4" and uses a 1" punch. The sentiment is: Think of You by Hero Arts. These cards are simple, but something about them makes my heart sing!

Here's another butterfly card I made using a butterfly sticker and a watercolor powder from Paper Source called Pixie Paint by Cosmo Cricket in a color named Harbor:
