Sending Love

I just finished my first card using the Waffle Flower Sending Love stamp and die set from Simon Says. Quite a frustrating experience as this polymer stamp set comes with such a slick surface that the ink doesn't adhere very well. Versafine Onyx Black seemed to work the best in the end. I could take an eraser to the surface, but the stamps are so tiny and intricate.

VERSION TWO:
Something seemed a bit off as I looked at the design above. I finally figured out that it was the color of the mouse! Here she is in gray and this change in Copic colors made me do a happy dance at last:

Here are the Copics used to color the second version of this mouse:

...and the white scalloped frame was made using the Lacy Layer 2 die set from Waffle Flower Crafts.

I also used the Spectra Noir Sparkle inks and they are so vibrant and sparkling! Colors used on the Big Hugs circle, mailbox, and Love stamp are Icy Blue, Frosty Rose and Winter Plum (purchased from HSN as a three-pack). These inks must be completely shaken to diffuse the glitter and I had to work quickly at first to get enough sparkle on the paper. I discovered it works best to place the ink immediately after shaking onto a non-porous surface like a piece of glass with an eye dropper, then load my brush from that ink supply to retain all of the glitter and sparkle.

On the Simon Says website, there are a few sample cards to entice you to buy this set!
