Valentine's Day Favors

These 3D hearts are so fun to make and a GREAT way to use up scraps!

For the hearts, you can experiment with various patterns of papers and lengths of papers,
but here are some measurements to try:

Large heart (shown above): 2 strips each measuring: 12" x 1", 9.5" x 1" and 7.5" x 1"
Medium Heart: 2 strips each measuring of 11" x 1", 9" x 1" and 7 x 1"

Place the largest strips together then add the medium size strips then the smallest strips on top. (NOTE: The side you want to face out should be placed in this bundle facing in.) Staple or glue together all strips at the bottom. Bring the remaining free ends together and staple or glue all strips. Cover the staples with hearts, flowers, etc.

The box with a lid will hold two Hershey's Hugs or Kisses or the box can be made without a lid to hold candies (like M&M's) and glued inside the heart. (Instead of the box, candy like a Hershey's Kiss or Nugget can be placed where the box sits and attached with glue or glue dots.) The box measurements are as follows:

VARIATION TWO: Mini Heart

8.5" x 1" scored at 4" and 7.5"
10" x 1" scored at 5"
12" x 1" scored at 6"

Score and use bone folder on all score lines. Stack the strips inside each other from the smallest to the largest as shown in the picture above. Staple about a 1/2" above the fold or glue each folded strip to the next above the fold. Add glue to the inside of the flap on the smallest strip and attach the flap to the outside of the free end of the smallest strip. Add glue to the inside of each free end of the middle strips and attach the free ends to the outside surface of the smallest heart. Repeat with the middle then largest strips.
Attach a candy with glue or glue dot.
